Did you feel the rumble?

That's because last week America's colleges were rocked, rocked! by the biggest conservative protests ever! David Horowitz unleashed Islamo-Rastafarianism Awareness Week upon unsuspecting coeds, revealing the insidious plot hatched by dreadlocked jihadis hellbent on destroying America by subjecting us to endless playbacks of Exodus and enveloping us in a haze of sweet, sweet ganja smoke.

What's that? Islamo-fascism you say? Whatever. My point remains. Rocked.

While campuses dig out from the ivy-covered rubble, here's a few highlights you may have missed:

• Did you know that IFAW was actually just another lame attempt by Horowitz to gain some media exposure? It's true!

  "I'm a prominent conservative but no one is inviting me to speak at their campuses," Horowitz said in an interview with The Hatchet. "I had to create an event."

  The real reason Horowitz isn't invited to speak on campus is because freakshows play better at the circus midway - or on the quad, for that matter - than in the lecture hall.
• One group wasn't content to just listen to the battle cry of "Fascist!" being lobbed by partisans on both sides of the ideological spectrum. No, the Young America's Foundation at Michigan State University did them one better and invited a real live, honest-to-god fascist, British National Party chief Nick Griffin, to address the campus about Islam! When one of America's premier Islamophobic websites mentioned that maybe, just maybe, this wasn't the best choice of speakers, the head of YAF-MSU had this to say:

  In case you do not read Little Green Footballs, the blog is pro-Muslim, left-wing, politically correct, and basically a front for neoconservative foreign policy (instead of defending their culture, they want to build schools in the Anbar province). They are basically a puppet of the multiculturalists and believe that Islam is not the enemy of Western civilization and Christendom. Only Bush-bots read the Little Green Footballs blog.

• The real tragedy of IFAW is that no one, not one single campus, booked Pamela Oshry Geller for a speaking engagement, thus depriving countless students of the benefits of her trenchant social analysis:
  Hellooooooooo therapy!

So there you have it - consider yourself informed of the imminent threat and grateful that you weren't drowned in a tidal wave of hilarious propaganda! As for me, I'll be welcoming our Islamo-Rastafari overlords with open arms. Jah rule!

The Arabian Candidate

Get out the smelling salts! Pam's been in the liquor and has the vapors again, this time over one Barack Hussein Obama. She clucks approvingly,

The left goes ballistic when you use Obama's full name. Deceiving the American people, yet again. Debbie Schlussel nails it here

His full name--as by now you have probably heard--is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Hussein is a Muslim name, which comes from the name of Ali's son--Hussein Ibn Ali. And Obama is named after his late Kenyan father, the late Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., apparently a Muslim.

And while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it. In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he's a Christian, but they do not.

Then, there are the other items in his background. As best-selling author Scott Turow wrote in Salon, Obama went to a Muslim school for two years in Indonesia. His mother, Anna, married an Indonesian man (like another Muslim, as Indonesia is Muslim-dominated and has the largest population of Muslims of any nation in the world).

If I may summarize Pam's argument: due to some apparent connections with Islam, we should assume that underneath all that pious Christian talk, Obama is some sort of latent Islamonazifarian. Right now, he's hood-winking us all ("Barack Obama is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.") into putting him in the White House, whereupon some jihadist operative will ring him up in the Oval Office, ask him if he'd like to play a game of solitaire, and boom! - next thing you know, he's got four more wives, has implemented sharia law, and is building minarets around the Capitol building.

I'd find this laughable if not for the fact that I'm going to have to spend the next two years being reminded by the 30 percenters that Obama's middle name is Hussein, just like that bad guy in Iraq. And his last name rhymes with Osama.

Unhinged

The leading lights of Soviet Blogistan wait for Pam Atlas' implosion over John Bolton's resignation as UN Ambassador (I'm sure we deserve a patented video rant on this!) [update on her Bolton implosion down yonder]

However, the evidence is pretty conclusive in saying that she's done gone and lost it:

Bush is surrounded by sharks and the new direction in foreign policy is a slippery slope to hell. Bringing in James "Fuck the Jews" Baker's brand of realpolitik will be an unmitigated disaster, empowering the barbaric Islamists.

Wow. When even James Baker looks like a Holocaust-denying, turbaned jihadist bent on wiping Israel off the map, you've slipped into a Dali-esque version of reality.

Rumsfeld memo highlights Bush isolation Financial Times

President George W. Bush’s isolation over Iraq deepened on Sunday following the publication of the leaked memo from sacked defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld calling for a “major adjustment” in Iraq policy.

John Warner, the outgoing Republican chairman of the Senate armed services committee, told NBC’s Meet the Press that the president should respect the will of the people, and seek agreement with the Democrat leaders of the new Congress on a new Iraq policy.

The dhimmicrats never respected the will of the people when they elected a Republican President, House and Senate, why should they now?

I'm tempted to lecture Pam on reifying such abstractions as "the will of the people," or perhaps on the fact that Congresscritters represent their constituents, so a representative from an overwhelmingly anti-war district would be expected to oppose Bush's war. But she's not going to read it. It will suffice to note that the GOP has been in charge since 2002, both in the Executive and the Legislative branches. Congress has been nothing more than a rubber-stamp, and the Congressional minority had been utterly marginalized by design.

The GOP fucked this one up all on their own.

Anybody happy about this is an America hater. The tyranny of the minority strikes again.

The tired refrain of "America hater" doesn't really work when the so-called "tyranny of the minority" is actually the majority on issues of how batshit insane the Bush foreign policy game is.

Let me lick the tears of unfathomable sadness!

So how did Pam from Atlas Shrugs deal with last night? Well, to start off, with bizarre metaphors and delusions of relevance:

Looking in the rearview mirror. That's what the Republicans should be doing going forward. They squandered their historic majority and they were punished. But let's not kid ourselves. The American people have been clubbed to death like baby seals by a drive by, jihad loving media and it took its toll. Years and years of lies and propaganda had its effect. The economy is the best case in point. We are experiencing the strongest most robust economy in recent history and if you listened to the media you'd have thought we were in the midst of a great depression. But it had it's effect. It certainly had it delterious effect on the public's perception of the war on Iraq - practically rooting for the enemy.

This is why the blogosphere is of critical importance. Where else will people get the facts? The news. If we build it, they will come. And so we must build it.

Ah yes, nothing evokes sympathy for Republicans like images of cute baby animals being bludgeoned to death in the name of fashion. And Pammy, dear, there is a conservative source for news you may be familiar with called FOX - and viewers are fleeing from this source for "facts." The right-wing blogosphere, however, is still my #1 source for items to point at and ridicule.

Pam's post-election pity party continues with some fallen hero worship:

Rumsfeld is going? Now I am depressed. The white flag has been raised. Bush has lost it.

I love Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld was solid. A straight talking brilliant strategist. He had to take a 19th military, decimated and raped by a shortsighted horndog (Clinton), and transform it into a lean, agile state of the art military overnight to go after the post modern 21st enemy. An enemy that has no specific territory, operates in the shadows, kills large numbers of civilians with an incomprehensible barbaric blood lust, and has made Iraq the central front on the war on Islamic fundamentalism. Rumsfeld did it, hands tied by the PC mentality that infected the Bush administration.

Why the rollover? Because Iraq was not over in 30 minutes and we couldn't pick up our marbles and go home? This is war buddy. War is tough, get over it.

First off, we know to whom you're referring when you say "horndog". You don't need to spell it out for us. You hate Bill Clinton. And Hillary. And probably Chelsea. And Buddy got what was coming to him. We get it.

I'm sure that the Rumsfeld Gambit of attempting the occupation of a nation - one with a history of violent chafing under colonial oppression - on the cheap will be studied in policy circles for years to come, although I somehow doubt scholarly discussions will center on the gambit's alleged brilliance.

As for the icky viral infection of PC that is spreading through the White House - if Abu Ghraib, gutting the Geneva Conventions, secret prisons, and spying on your own citizens is PC, I don't think we really want to know what would have occurred if Crazy Uncle Rummy and gang hadn't had their hands tied.
