What's in a headline?
The Horn of Africa desk in the State Department has emphatically not been coordinating its media talking points. The headlines from four English-language dailies describing the fall of Mogadishu:
- The Independent: "Ethiopian-led forces seize Mogadishu."
- NYT: "Somalia Forces Retake Capital From Islamists."
- WaPo: "Ethiopians Help Seize Somali Capital."
- The Guardian: "Return of warlords as Somali capital is captured."
Uh, whozthuwhanow?
